Privacy Policy
Monibu ("the app", "we") is published by tuwenti. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data. Plain language, because budgeting is stressful enough.
The short version. Monibu keeps your data on your device. There is no account, no sign-up, and we do not run a server that collects your expenses. We can't see what you spend.
What the app stores
The following is saved locally on your device (via the operating system's on-device storage) so the app works between launches:
- Your expenses: amount, category, optional note, date/time, and — only if you choose to attach it — an approximate location (latitude/longitude and a place label).
- Your settings: chosen coach, monthly budget, currency, reminder preference, sound/haptics toggles.
- Your progress: XP, level, streak, unlocked achievements.
This data is not transmitted to us. Deleting the app removes it. "Reset all data" in Settings clears it.
Location
If you turn on location for an expense, the app reads your device location once to tag that expense and to draw your private "spending map". Location data is stored locally with that expense and is never sent to us. You can deny the permission or remove a location at any time; the app works fully without it.
Notifications
Daily reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. We do not use push servers and do not collect device tokens.
Analytics & crash reporting
The current release does not include third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. If we add them in a future version, this policy will be updated and any data collected will be described here.
Payments
Subscriptions (Monibu Pro) are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment details. Apple's privacy terms apply to the transaction.
AI coach reactions
Coach reactions in this release are generated on your device. If a future version routes them through a server, only the minimal context needed to generate a reaction would be sent, and this policy will be updated to say so.
Children
Monibu is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your control
Because your data lives only on your device, you control it directly: edit or delete any expense, or use Settings → Reset all data to erase everything.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
